On 19–20 June, a landmark event for the textile service market took place in St Petersburg — the first Silver Thread Leadership Council. A closed meeting of professionals organised by Klinin and the Association of Chemical Cleaning and Laundries of Russia (ACCLR). The Silver Thread is a place where industry leaders hold frank discussions. Foresight sessions, business meetings, live seminars: honest dialogues, exchange of best practices and shaping of development standards.

Themes of the future and global challenges
The programme of the first day at the Klinin Textile Care Academy was dedicated to strategic development. Klinin General Director Darya Dybal and ACCLR President Leonid Bertsev opened the council with a discussion about the future. One of the key topics was the report ‘Chemical Complex 2042’, which presented Klinin’s solutions for overcoming the staff shortage through automation, education and attractiveness for job seekers.

The business block was complemented by expert presentations: Anna Bakhareva, General Director of the Russkiye Sezony dry cleaner, revealed marketing secrets for leaders, while Evgenia Satalkina, Director of the Contract and Legal Department of the Diana dry cleaning chain, analysed atypical cases from court practice. The evening ended with a ‘signature expedition’ — a guided walk through Kolomna, allowing participants to strengthen business ties in an informal setting and immerse themselves in the Silver Age and contradictions of St Petersburg.

Theoretical and practical seminar ‘The Secret Life of a Delicate Item’
The second day was dedicated to in-depth practical expertise. The professional block was opened by Natalya Matyushenkova, senior technologist of the Diana dry cleaning chain, with a report ‘Materials Science: Wool and Silk’, in which she analysed in detail the physico-chemical properties of fibres and the risks involved in their processing. Immediately after the fundamental theory, Olga Loginova, Production Director and Chief Technologist of Prachka.com, moved on to process standardisation issues. In her report ‘Photo Documentation: Standard, Not Exception’, she justified the importance of detailed photography as a business protection tool, and then demonstrated in practice to participants the algorithm for professional photo documentation of complex items.

Practice on the Edge of Art
The practical part in the Academy’s workshops continued with master classes on processing delicate items, using proprietary technologies by Andrey Frost, Chief Technologist of Klinin, and finishing treatment of items by Elena Kalkutina, Production Director of the Apetta dry cleaner. Participants were able to see all stages of restoring items made of delicate fabrics and work on modern equipment.

We thank everyone who was with us and look forward to new meetings! Follow the news.
